I was born in south central Pennsylvania and have lived most of my life there. My early adult life was rather nomadic. I spent my early 20s engaged in studies of a variety of alternative health modalities, yoga and travel. I lived for periods of time in Atlanta, Boston and Hawaii.
I met my life partner during this period. We planned to travel the world but soon after marriage, I became pregnant (travel would come later). We returned to Pennsylvania where a network of friends and family already existed. We raised our two children in a warm and supportive community and have many friendships from that period that continue to this day.
For the better part of two decades my main life focus was on raising my family. I consider this to be work of the highest importance and am grateful to have had the opportunity to do so.
I was employed outside the home in various capacities over the years but it wasn’t until my children were of high school age that I shifted my attention more specifically to my own “wild and precious” life. I knew I wanted to find a way to integrate my interests in holistic health and find an avenue that would somehow incorporate mind, body and spirt.
We began attending a UU congregation in 1999. It wasn’t long after that I felt the first subtle tugs that led me to embarking on this path toward ministry. I enrolled in a local college to obtain the bachelor’s degree that had been put on hold by youthful wanderlust. Enrollment in seminary soon followed.
The seven principles of Unitarian Universalism have become my guiding stars. I truly believe that this is a faith for all seasons but particularly for the current times in which we are living.
In my spare time I love spending time with friends and family, eating good food, exploring hidden treasures, watching movies, and discovering the delights to be found through travel and in the out of doors.
